I love the wonderful comments our Judges make after the fact. I also feel that, some of the advice cannot be really applied to the future selection of songs by the contestant, due to the nature of selection of the songs.
I agree that the judges are there to Judge the contestants and not train them, however, if some of these talents are exposed to their initial criticism prior to their performance, I feel that they can sing a lot better and thereby solidity the competition and make it more exciting.
Do you think that if the judges had some input during the song selection and practice, the contestants maybe able to better represent their talent?

not only judges ..they can go to their teachers and other music experts..

I agree, however I feel that some of the singers maybe able to train under the guidance of certain teachers while others may not have that opportunity. I guess what I am trying to say is that if two students are trained under the same teacher, it is fair to compare their talent but if they have diffrent teachers, even though it creates variety in their learning and presentation, I don't know if the two can be compared. What do you think ?

ISS do have lot of grooming sessions under one teacher ..i think that is really helpful..so everyone gets equal exposure

but the same is happending every where not only in music..like students from state syllabus,central syllabus and inter national syllabus are appearing for the common exams...

I have seen in ISS 2007 where Sharrath used to train contestants in the initial stages (Clippings were shown). Singers like Durga was able to fare well with comments and advices provided by Judges like MG and Sharrath in ISS2007. Same may apply here.
